It’s one of those comedy movies where you can only watch it once (twice if you’re really bored).

I cannot believe how poor this movie is. I didn’t expect anything as entertaining as Scary Movie, but I did expect that it would be roughly on par with Date Movie. Boy was I mistaken. If you really must see Carmen and Kim, go rent it for a buck; do not waste your money on this film. I bought it without having seen it, and threw it away after watching it.

Found the first skit, and the music the best parts of this movie…the
rest is not even worth talking about.
and no……a 24 will not make it better.

I can’t believe how many people think this movie was supposed to be some kind of a comedy masterpiece. Yes, I thought it was funny has hell and yes, stupid as hell too! I knew from the start it was never meant to be taken seriously at all. I totally love these movies because they are so stupid, predictable, and outrageous! As for Bret Fetzer, Amazon’s editor, sorry dude, I got all the references and I’m way over 30. Actually Bret, it seems to me that most all viewers under the age of 30 are the ones who didn’t get the jest of the movie.

After the Scary Movie series thses films went to total garbage. Meet the Spartans, Diaster Movie, SuperHero movie were all total tripe. This movie is not funny and the films title is self discription: it is a total Disaster in every sence. Whoever directed it should be shot for making such a waste of time film. This is one of those movies where you curse it and demand your wasted two hours of life back…it’s that bad. To much dance off’s and gay music just like Meet The Spartans…..just lame and stupid.

i am a huge fan of the simpsons i grew up with it, so i could not be more excited when i found out that there was going to be a simpsons movie. so i saw the movie and bought the dvd and heres what i thought: overall pretty good it had some good moments and jokes one of my favorite being when homer asks the audiance why there paying to see something they could see for free on TV.anathor favorite of mine was when mr burns tells smithers that he has never considered suicide then says to smithers that if he wants to give it a try it might cheer him up. then there spider pig funny at first but god it got annoying after people kept singing the song all the time. sadly the movie is pretty low on witty humor that makes the simpsons such a good show. almost all of the humor is based on homer getting hurt thats funny in small doses but here it a complete overload. i thought and hoped that this would be the series finale but no the simpsons kept going and now the show is an insult to the early years. the simpsons have a contract so they will do at least 23 seasons or 500 episodes. if the simpsons does end i will be sad to see it go its the end of an era. and the question is what will fox replace it with?(probably anathor family guy spin off, the Quagmire show) so anyway back to the movie old simpson fans will probably not like it because the movie is aimed at non fans but the movie still has its funny moments.

Simpsons fans deserve a ton more extras, but the description provided was accurate so it’s not any fault of Amazon.

  9. Mah says

‘The Simpsons’ is the best animated series in the history of TV, hands down. So it was with great fanfare and hoopla that THE SIMPSONS MOVIE was released in the summer of 2007 (and I was one of the fans hooping). I should have written a review of the theatrical version, because on the big screen the visual clarity and crisp animation was extraordinary. But now that this entertaining film is on DVD I still heartily recommend it; fans of the series won’t be disappointed, and the antics of Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, and Maggie should attract new fans, too.

The movie version is basically an extended television episode–only with even more subplots and sight gags (Bart’s nude skateboard adventure, for instance) hurled at the viewer in rapid-fire, ADD fashion. Which was my one problem with the film: There is just so “much” when it comes to visuals and shenanigans I at times found it difficult to put my arms around it all. Still, the main plot–in typical Simpsons fashion–is silly and lame, and Homer manages to resolve it in his usual dysfunctional manner, and Springfield is saved yet once again. All the secondary characters (and there are legions of them) we have come to know and love each make their own distinct contributions, and creator Matt Groenig’s THE SIMPSONS MOVIE more than holds its own as a satisfying entertainment experience.

People who watch the Simpsons know its not funny anymore I just wish the people in denial would let it die.

OK tonight I tried to sit through the movie Sex and the city. It is without a doubt one of the largest pieces of garbage that Hollywood has EVER produced. And as far as female empowerment goes, June Cleaver was more independent and cutting edge than this glorified harlequin romance novel for the 21st century.
I admit – I used to watch the show when it was first on. Back then, it WAS edgy. It DID make its points about separation of the sexes and their differences. By show casing four distinct classic female archetypes, it showed how these women COULD keep that classic archetype and STILL be relevant in a world that had left the ‘golden age of feminine mystique’ behind for a female that was based on a male image. Well, at least it did in its early incarnation.
Then, the series became popular, and critiqued, and copied, and studied. And with the microscopic concentration it received, the producers felt the need to focus only on the cheap laughs and the superficiality and the vanity, and leave behind the original ‘catch’. Instead of being cutting edge, this show had now become a walking and talking live animation edition of any of the mountain of superficial plastic carbon copy fashion magazines publishers are still trying to force onto women. It devolved into no more than that. It was NO LONGER groundbreaking; it was no longer MODERN or FEMINIST-ic; it had degenerated the women’s movement to circa 1925. The fact that these women were ‘professional’ women became a subplot to their superficiality, their vanity, and the sub-textual clues that the producer/creators/SPONSORS felt women belong married and being a mother. While that ending was predetermined for the Charlotte character from episode one, to see the fiercely independent characters of Samantha and Miranda be shackled to relationships that were NOT befitting of their traits was insulting to all audience members, but most especially to women. The final seasons made a mockery of feminism and progressiveness, and instead left the bad taste of MATERIALISM, SUPERFICIALITY, and the concept of APPEARANCES over FOUNDATION.
Then came the movie. While I admit again I could not watch the whole movie (well at least not sober), the one hour and five minutes I did force myself to sit through was both painful and an abomination.
No, I am not a woman, nor do I confess to think like a woman or pretend to relate to women’s situations. That is a task I could never come up to. But what was different between the first two seasons of the show and the later seasons/movie is that, you did not FEEL like an outsider. You felt like you were seeing INDEPENDENT women making their way through the world ON THEIR OWN. The later seasons, and MOST ESPECIALLY the movie, have taken women back almost a full century. Take away the jobs and the modern conveniences, and you have any woman from the early 1900’s. And to further degenerate women is the fact that the characters ‘gave in’ to the status quo, just to receive acceptance (e.g. – Carrie wearing the ‘fancy’ dress; Carrie ‘agreeing’ to the LAVISH/LARGE wedding). Maybe I misunderstand the early seasons, and that the above was their intention all along. If that is the case, then I am sorry I ever watched it. The concept the movie was sending out was FIT IN, WEAR FANCY CLOTHES, SPEND LOTS OF MONEY, AND YOU WILL BE CORRECT. I always assumed one of the points of the early seasons was that women were WISE enough to see the male figure as it was and when they fell in love with the male (the FINAL fall); they fell in love with the man…AS HE WAS. In the show and the movie, it was TABOO to have a male figure suggest a female character change. But like the trash pulp ‘romance” novels of old, the female character’s PURPOSE was to have the male character of its choosing either conform to the female’s desires/needs/wants, or it was over. And those desires/needs/wants were ALWAYS superficial and materialistic. This movie to me is a slap in the face to feminism, intelligent viewers, and most especially WOMEN. I am offended that this movie was ever made, and apologize to any woman who felt a connection to this SUPERFICIAL, MATERIALISTIC, VAIN portrayal of the trial and tribulations of being a female.

We found this video at the library and we just had to buy it! It is a great ACTUAL movie, not just a series of cartoons… big and nice surprise. Our son loves it and I have to admit we do too. A must have in your video Clifford collection.
